Reporting a repair

You can report a repair to CDHA in a number of ways:


When reporting a repair, please provide:

  • Your name, address and contact number.
  • Details of the repair.
  • Availability for when the contractor can access your home.

Repair timescales


Repairs are categorised as:

Routine

Completed within 10 working days

Urgent

Completed within 2 working days

Emergency

Completed within 6 hours*

*Heating failures are usually attended to within 6 hours. However, in some cases, it may take up to 24 hours due to:

  • Weather events
  • Extreme pressure on engineers
  • Situations out with the engineer's control, such as political or biological.

At the time of contact, we will confirm the expected repair timescale, the proposed contractor attending and whether the repair falls under Statutory Right to Repair.

Some repairs may require our Maintenance Officer to visit in the first instance to investigate the issue or may be issued directly to a contractor.

What is an emergency repair?


A repair is an emergency if a delay in attending to it could represent a risk to health, safety or security, or could cause significant damage to property, such as:

  • Burst pipes
  • Total loss of electrical power – after you have checked your appliances
  • Boiler breakdown.
